Samsung has filed a patent to include a fertility monitoring feature with to measure your BBT(Basal Body Temperature) via your eardrum.  That is one feature I never thought I would have considered adding to a cell phone. 

While some women might find this to be a convenience, I’m not convinced yet.  You’d have to make sure your cell phone was by your bed at night.  In theory, not a problem, but somehow it just seems to invite phone calls!  Of course, I should mention that my phone number is one off from a medical office that seems to get me VERY early morning phone calls.  Since an accurate BBT requires a certain amount of uninterrupted sleep, I’m afraid it might make me have more inaccurate readings. 

For the record – yes, I know about vibrate and silent modes, but I can’t see myself remembering to change it over on a regular basis.

I am trying to stick with it this time – regardless of the cackling of the scale.

The last (and only) time I lost weight, I was in college.  I was on the go all the time – at work or school, so that might have had some bearing, but I also used to read my textbooks at the gym on the stationary bike.  I used to do it for an hour – that’s all.  So I’m trying to start with 1 hour of exercise a day.  I’ve been reading on the treadmill – let’s just hope I can find plenty of interesting material!

So the networks she belongs to now has a great new feature where you can request your appointments online!!  I could not be more excited!!!  Unfortunately, when you go to my doctor’s location, the drop down is blank.  Knowing quite a bit about the web, I try to hack the webpage to get my request in anyway, but I’d have to know the number associated to my doctor, so I’m out of luck.  Argh!

Not to be deterred, I email the webmaster.  I finally get a response – even though there is a nifty “Request an Appointment” button on my doctor’s personal page on their website – they don’t provide this service for her.  Argh! Argh!

So I’m back to dealing with the evil receptionist.  I call and the receptionist is off.  The current schedule for my doctor goes into October and there are no opening, but they will add me to the list to be called when the new schedule is available. 

This isn’t an urgent request yet…but if I need Diflucan or something, the doctor said I need to see her first.  I’m just sure I’ll need it before the receptionist can fit me into the doctor’s schedule.

So, I was also hoping to talk to her about seeing a nutritionist/dietitian or the like.  Managing your weight can be so challenging with PCOS and I think that my weight may be adding to the issues we are having TTC.  When I was on birth control, I was able to lose a lot of weight – I believe just because it controlled my hormones.  Anyone else have any luck with a nutritionist??

So, my husband and I invited my parents to dinner Friday night, but my mom was still working and said “let’s try later this weekend”.  It was a holiday weekend, so there were lots of days to choose from.  Anyway, they never got together with us.  They had me run something over to them at the store on Sunday, but they had to hurry and get home.  Then my brother’s wife actually let them watch the kids on Monday, so we didn’t get to have our dinner – or even a phone call about dinner – all weekend.  Grandkids and selfish parents come first.

Why does it feel like infertility makes you a non-person?

Usually I try and stay laying down for at least a little while – pillow optional – I can’t make up my mind   But my husband and I just talk for awhile afterwards – I don’t think anyone had that in mind when they mention “pillow talk”!

Just to get us started, I’m 33.  My husband and I have been TTC since 2000.  I knew I’d have problems conceiving – I have PCOS.  That’s a whole story in itself!  It was years before I was able to put a name to my symptoms.  We were dealt a second blow when we found out my husband also had low sperm counts.  Ouch! 

I will share the best resources I find – the best tidbits of information!  The goal is success – join us for the journey!
